Improving the quality of life for Russian children with Down syndrome
Can Down syndrome be cured? This is a question medical scientists and parents of children with Down syndrome have asked for many years. We are offering you a material based on article, published in “The New York Times” newspaper. Alberto Costa, a physician and neuroscientist – and the father of a 16-years old daughter with Down syndrome, decided to devote himself to the study of Down syndrome. This fall, Costa will present preliminary results at a scientific meeting in Illinois on whether taking the drug (called "memantine") made those with Down, in a word, smarter.
And what do you think of all this? Write to our blog.
