Dear Friends,
If you divide 2500 by 365 it's a number between 6 and 7: that is how many children with Down syndrome are born in Russia every day. Yesterday, today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow... These children and their family members need our cooperation together! If you have friends, co-workers, relatives to share our Express News with, please do so! This is important, needed, and very much appreciated: BECAUSE ANYBODY CAN HELP!
THANK YOU!

We invite everyone to cycle with us on the final leap of the annual Red Square Charity Bike Ride on August 22: it's first time in 15 years we can do it since this event started in 1995. You should be older than 14, full equipped (bicycle and helmet). Donation is 1000 rubles. All money raised will go towards early intervention programmes for children with Down syndrome. We'll meet at Novodevichy Monastery at 10.30 where participants will receive a T- shirt. The group will start to cycle at 11.30 along the embankment and finish at Vasilevsky Spusk on Red Square to join the Celebration of the Bike Ride Final with games, a photo exhibition, and concert starring Prikluchenia Electronica, DomicolKa, Dianna Gurtzkaya, Anna Gorshkova, Tutta Larsen and Tatiana Lazareva!
Please contact Ksenya Cherniavskaya with regards to your participation at (499) 367-1000 or ksenya@downsideup.org . If you can not join us but still would like to support Downside Up please make a donation here.
Thank you sincerely!

In June David and Christina Hodgetts have again organised two evenings of opera in Guernsey with the proceeds coming to Downside Up and a donation made to the Guernsey Specials, whose number include young people with Down syndrome. Two capacity audiences were delighted with Diva Opera performing Carmen and Falstaff.
The amount raised for Downside Up was again a record. Downside Up will receive not less than 50,000 pounds. Everyone is delighted.
