Charity In-door Football Tournament for Corporate Teams

The Charity In-Door Football Tournament to benefit Russian children with Down syndrome was held in the afternoon of 8th November at Dynamo stadium. Despite the gloomy weather outside, the participants were, as usual, in high spirits.

About 250 people got together at Dynamo stadium on that day – some to compete for the Cup, others to support their teams

The following 9 corporate league teams participated in the tournament: ЭксонМобил Раша Инк, Baker&McKenzie, Renaissance & Courtyard by Marriott Hotels of Russia, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Банк Держава, Российское агенство международной информации РИА Новости, Хендэ Мотор СНГ, Райффайзенбанк.

It has been a long-standing tradition that Downside Up parents’ team takes part in the tournament. This year Vladimir Leonchenko, a bronze prize winner of 1994 and 2000 Russian championships, a halfback from the famous Moscow Dynamo school, played for the parents’ team.

A popular TV and radio presenter Tutta Larsen was the host of ceremony at the tournament.

In the intervals between the games Moscow Cheerleading Federation team “Jam” came onstage to demonstrate miracles of artistic gymnastics and acrobatics. Particularly impressive was their construction of “live pyramids”.

Downside Up pupils Nastya, Marina, Stepa and Kolya participated in the awards ceremony.

Dynamo football player Yuri Kovtun, a 3-fold champion of Russia as Spartak team player, and World-class athlete, participated in an awards ceremony. He greeted the teams, congratulated the participants and dispensed autographs.
