The Sunday of 12th April offered more than one reason for celebration: Palm Sunday, World Astronautics Day, Catholic and Lutheran Easter, the birthday of traveller Nikolay Przhevalsky, Locomotive-CSKA football game… In short, there was a wide choice of opportunities to have a great time on that lovely spring day.
And still more than 200 people made a choice in favour of playing football in Dynamo in-door stadium to benefit children with Down syndrome
The participation mechanism is simple: a corporate team pays a charitable contribution in favour of the children with Down syndrome and takes part in the football tournaments featuring professional judges and gear. On one hand, people get together and play football, and, on the other hand, they provide financial support that really matters, and help to raise awareness for the projects having social significance.
Despite the crisis, there were twelve 12 teams: Nike, ВЕЛЕСКапитал, ЭксонМобил Раша Инк, Voerman, Baker&McKenzie, Кэдбери, Courtyard by Marriott Moscow City Center, ВТБ 24, Clifford Chance, PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Along with the corporate teams, there were two more participants: the team of parents of children with Down syndrome, and the team of TV presenter Michael Shats which also made a charitable contribution.
The voice AND face of the tournament this year was Vice-Miss Universe Vera Krassova who did a brilliant job as a tournament presenter and broke more than one heart.
The fantastic performance of Jam, a Moscow Cheerleading Federation’s team, winner of Moscow 2009 Championship, made everyone understand why Paul McCacrtney said: “Moscow girls make me sing and shout”.
The best fans came to support BЕЛЕС Капитал and Кэдбери.
At the stadium we noticed Кэдбери and ЭксонМобил Раша Инк company executives who came to play and watch the game.
TV presenter Tutta Larsen rushed in just in time for the awarding ceremony. She made a short, sincere and very convincing speech, and distributed the awards with the help of Downside Up graduates Nastya and Dasha..
